Airfix Hawker Sea Fury Puzzle 1000 Pieces

Although the Hawker Sea Fury never flew in World War II, its development started in 1943 based on previous propeller-driven aircraft such as the Hawker Tempest, but saw a need for a lighter airplane. Since the war had ended, the project was almost abandoned but naval forces saw potential in the smaller aircraft and folding wings redesigned to not take as much room on aircraft carriers becoming one of the fastest reciprocating engine planes to fly. Once in service, starting in 1947 through the 1950s, the Hawker Sea Fury was used several missions, including sorties, groound attacks, patrols during the Korean War. Airfix is the oldest UK manufacturer of scale model plastic kits and has been producing kits for the mass market since 1952.
